3 Ways to Recover Your Lost Phone Data

If your phone goes missing, don’t despair, there are several ways to recover lost data. In this article, we’ll outline three of the most common phone data recovery techniques, and explain how they can help you get your data back.

Whether you’ve accidentally deleted some important photos or misplaced your phone in a public place, these methods will help you get your data back safely and swiftly.

Make a digital backup

First and foremost, make sure you have a digital backup of your sensitive information. If your phone gets stolen or mislaid, you can use this backup to get your data back. The easiest way to do this is to create copies of your most important data on a cloud storage service.

We recommend Google Drive, Dropbox, or another online service.  Once you have your digital copies safely stored online, you can access them easily from another device. If you’ve misplaced your phone and can’t access the original data, you can still get your data back without the phone.

With a little trial and error, you can unlock your phone and transfer the backup to another mobile device, so you can continue your work as if nothing happened.

Install a tracking app

After you’ve made your digital backup, you can use it as a guide to finding your phone. Track your device via its unique ID or other identifying information, and see if it turns up at a nearby location. If it doesn’t, you can install a tracking app on your new device to help you find it.

We recommend Find My iPhone and Find My Android, which help you locate and track your device with a few clicks. These tracking services can help you find your phone if it’s been lost or stolen, or locate it if it’s in danger.

Once you’ve found your phone, you can remotely lock it or wipe it.

Recover deleted photos from your phone

Many mobile phone plans offer unlimited photo storage, so it’s easy to lose track of how many photos you have on your phone. If you accidentally delete some of these photos, you can use a data recovery tool to retrieve them.

We recommend PhoneRescue, which provides a simple interface for recovering deleted photos from both Android and iPhone devices.

PhoneRescue can retrieve photos from both mobile device files and online services, like Google Drive. You can use it on both Mac and PC, and it runs on both Android and iPhone devices. You can also back up your photos with PhoneRescue, so they’re not lost forever.

Recover text messages from your SIM card

If you’ve misplaced your phone, but you still have the SIM card in your phone, you can still recover your text messages. Most mobile phone providers store these messages on your SIM card, which you can easily retrieve with a SIM extraction tool. We recommend SIMUnlocker, which has been proven to work with all mobile phone providers in the US and most countries.

You’ll need to provide your phone number and unlock code when you order, but this process only takes a few minutes. After you have your SIM card, use SIMUnlocker to scan it with your phone provider’s app to see if any of your messages are stored there.
